Jeopardy! is one of the most interesting game shows on TV, but when the host changed, fans were left with more questions than answers. After Alex Trebek left the show in November 2020, Ken Jennings took over as host. Since then, he has become a well-known face on the show. Ken Jennings was not hosting Jeopardy: What Happened to ‘Jeopardy!

Ken hosted the show for several straight episodes of Season 39 from March 10 to April 28, 2023. He passed the torch to Mayim on May 1 and hasn’t said when he’ll be back on the show. Even though his fans were initially confused, it was all part of his deal to share presenting chores with the Call Me Kat star.  

This isn’t the first time this year that the lineup of Jeopardy! Hosts need clarification on people. In January, producer Sarah Foss talked about why Mayim hadn’t been on the show for a long time during an episode of the “Inside Jeopardy!” podcast. 

She said, “Originally, we did think Mayim would come back in January,” “Her Call Me Kat schedule evolved — so she’ll be back a little later than we anticipated. But not for any lack of wanting to have both hosts on the show as much as possible — just scheduling.”

Ken’s rise to fame began on Jeopardy! in 2004 when he was a contestant on the show. Because he won 74 games in a row, he became a fan favorite on the show and in several of its spinoffs. After Trebek died at age 80 from pancreatic cancer, Ken agreed to be a famous guest host on the show to keep Jeopardy! Name living.

In July 2022, it was reported that the software expert and Mayim Bialik would take turns hosting Jeopardy! from then on. He told what he really thought about being one of the show’s two main stars. 

In an interview with Vulture in October 2022, Ken said, “It’s a weird TV show now because a huge part of the country watches it, and hosting style is mostly a matter of taste.” “All those millions of people don’t agree on how Jeopardy! should feel, so having more than one show gives people a choice. I wish we had someone like Alex Trebek, who brought everyone together and was great for the job, but since we don’t have anyone like that, it will take two of us to do his job. 

Since then, the two have been taking turns at the top of the long-running race.  

Is Jeopardy’s Ken Jennings comeback updated?


Ken Jennings is back to Jeopardy when? Twitter account @IsKenHosting alleged that Jennings would return to Jeopardy on July 3, 2023, and host the game show until its Season 39 conclusion in late July 2023. ABC has not confirmed this.

As other outlets have reported, Ken Jennings will return to host the daily episodes of Jeopardy! later this season. Our sources indicate that these episodes will air from July 3 to the Season 39 finale.

Mayim Bialik was supposed to film the whole second half of Jeopardy Season 39. However, in May 2023, Deadline revealed that she refused to lead the last week of the Jeopardy Season 39 shooting in support of the Writers Guild of America Strike. Deadline also said that after Bialik left, Jennings took over as host for the last week of filming Season 39.
