Why did Craig Jones leave Slipknot?

Why did Craig Jones leave Slipknot? With the release of their most recent record, “The End, So Far,” Slipknot went through a strange time last year. Since then, things have only gotten stranger. Craig Jones, the keyboardist, and sampler with the spiky mask who has been in the band since 1996, has said he is leaving.

The band told their fans about the news through their social media accounts. “To our fans,” they wrote, “Slipknot is announcing that we have broken up with Craig Jones.” They also said, “We hope Jones has a good life ahead.” No one has said why he left, and it still needs to be clarified if Slipknot will look for a replacement for him during their current European tour.

In another development, founding drummer Shawn “Clown” Crahan said that he would miss future tour dates to be with his wife, who is dealing with health problems that have not been made public.

Crahan posted the news on the band’s Instagram, saying, “Hello to all of our fans, it’s the clown. I would like to take a moment to tell everyone that I’m back home supporting my wife through some health issues, and I’ll be back on the road as soon as I can.”

Craig Jones, commonly known as 133, is an American musician best known as the former sampler and keyboardist for the legendary heavy metal band Slipknot.

Jones, who was born on February 11, 1972, joined Slipknot in early 1996, soon after the band finished recording their demo album “Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.” Jones was first hired to replace one of the founding guitarists, Donnie Steele, but shortly moved on to handle samples and keyboards.

Following the departure of drummer Joey Jordison in 2013, Jones became one of Slipknot’s longest-serving members, having been with the band for many years.

On the other hand, Slipknot issued a public declaration on June 7, 2023, announcing their intention to cut ways with Jones. Despite the fact that the notice was withdrawn the same day, the reasons for this substantial shift in the band’s lineup remain unknown.

Craig Jones’ contributions to Slipknot’s distinct sound and his time with the band have left an unforgettable imprint on the band’s musical journey. While fans await additional details or formal remarks, Jones’ departure from Slipknot represents a critical turning point in the band’s career.
